A Tobacco Pipe That Changes Color Only For The Person Who Uses

 Tobacco particles combined with precious metals refracted light like a prism, causing the pipe to change color. When you smoke from one of these pipes, the tar and tar from your weed smoke form a dark color inside the pipe, which creates a dark background against which these color streaks become more and more visible.

As this happens over time from smoking, the pipe changes color. Some people call this a chameleon pipe because, like a lizard, the pipe changes color with use.

Some of these are also combined with other aspects of glass blowing, such as UV-reactive glass and dichroic glass. 

Many weed smokers appreciate the stylistic radiance of glass pipes, which designers decorate with a wide range of colors, patterns, shapes and sizes. Instead of instantaneous changes due to temperature fluctuations in color-changing glass tubes, resin is used that slowly builds up inside the cup and the tube's steam path. Then, when these pipes are used, the resin begins to interact with the steam generator and changes color. Thus, with prolonged use of the tube, as the resin accumulates, the glass continues to acquire a deeper and richer color gamut than the foggy appearance that it retained at the time of purchase. Some artists use heat to melt the pigment spots in the original glass tube as they form and complete the tube. 

Different metals create different light prisms when light exits the glass, giving the impression of a change in color. Basically, the colors are present from the moment the metallic smoke hits the glass. 

When gold and silver are fused to glass and the annealing process (slow cooling) begins, excellent color change characteristics are created. Over time, as the smoke from your bowls interacts with the glass, the precious metals begin to refract light differently than the precious metal. It practically does not change color, which becomes noticeable after the first cleaning of the tube. 

There is no water in the handpipe where the bong is intended to be used with it, and adding water inside will filter the smoke, cooling it down for a smoother hit. It may not be desirable to always have a perfectly clean glass tube, as shown in the case of color changing smoked glass, but an even simpler method is to simply always soak the tube in alcohol when not in use. Then soak the tube in the cleaning solution for at least 45 minutes. Cleaning Pipes Most tobacco and smoking supply stores have several commercially available cleaners (Formula 420, Orange Chronic, Dr. Greens, and Grunge Off) that will do a great job of cleaning glass pipes. 

Pipes that change color, with gold or silver smoke, may look prettier after a short period of use, but even these should not be used until the smoke tastes bad. Seafoam pipes can take on a rich coloration both with age and use, and this should not be rushed, as in this example. 

The first documented use of sea foam to make pipes dates from around 1723.
